How to Train to Get into the UFC.

A lot of people ask us how to get started in MMA training some goals are simply to get in better shape and they feel MMA training is the vehicle to drive them their while some want to become an actual MMA fighter and step into the ring/octagon. Currently it is hard to find a place to train in MMA since it is comprised of various arts and most schools are of a single discipline, but that is changing. In this article we will go over 4 key areas that will help your quest of becoming an MMA fighter or just in better shape. We are assuming that you don't have access to any MMA training camps like you would if you lived in Vegas. These four elements can be used in any town across the US.

1. Punch and Kicks (Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai)
This work is to quicken you hand and feet work and can be done with a heavy back o if you can train with a partner who can hold either the kicking bags or focus mitts. Focus mitts are an excellent training technique to improve your hand eye coordination as well as improving your quickness. The heavy bag is more of a power building movement which give you a lot of knockout power.

2. Strength training (Power Cleans, Snatch, Jerk)
Most of you strength training needs to consist of compound exercises. A compound excercise is a movement that uses more than one muscle to perform the movement. Unlike body builders that want to isolate the muscle for maximum growth you want to train your muscle to work together and have then fire exactly at the same time. Lifting heavy weights is exactly how you do this. In MMA your core strength is key to power and to strengthen this it is best to stick with Olympic style lifts. These lifts consist of the clean, jerk, and power cleans which all will increase your explosiveness and quickness. When it comes to training always choose a dumbell over a barbell and a barbell over a machine Although machines have their place when it comes to physical development and exercise it is much better for MMA workouts to choose the barbell and even better the dubmell. To get the most out of each excercise us dumbells. This again will train your muscles both on your left and right side to explode together and also strengthens your core due to balancing the dumbbells.

3. Ground Training (Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be difficult to train on your own but you can get BJJ dummies that really help simulate a partner to practice your submissions. To practice this part of your game it is best to join a school or class. If its possible to only make it to class once a week and train at home the rest of the time can provide a great deal of benefits~If time or traveling is an issue you can even train at home while making it to an martial arts training at least one day a week to train in the correct techniques. One secret is to look at your local highschool. A lot of coaches would love to have another assistant coach that will get down and roll with the kids while you get a fantastic workout.

4. MMA Training

MMA is a game of being well rounded and not specific to one style of martial arts. This can make it tough to train since a lot of schools and trainers don't have multiple skills yet. A lot of the traditional martial arts like Taekwondo and Karate instructors are starting to training in various other martial arts to become more well rounded for their students. To show the importance of the ground game som Taekwondo schools have even thrown in some ground techniques. So whether you have a school close by that trains in all the different disciplines or you have to go multiple places to get your MMA workouts and get better it is well worth it.

Where can you can buy replacement body jewelry o-rings?

I found a few websites that sell the o-rings but they sell them in huge quantities or mixed lots. Do you know if you can find similar items in a craft or home improvement store? It seems like it might be possible to find something compatible but much cheaper in one of those places, but I'm not sure where to look. Any suggestions? I don't want to pay $ for a ton of extra o-rings that I don't need.

Big Media’s 3Q Earnings Roundup: Are CEOs Worried About The Economy, Or Looking For A Scapegoat? (Deadline Hollywood)

Three months ago, when Big Media CEOs wrapped up their 2Q earnings, they were
still relentlessly upbeat about the business. Any worries about the economy?
Not then. But the messages they delivered over the past few weeks, as they
discussed 3Q, were different. Although they're still optimistic -- remember,
they're paid to be salesmen -- now and then you could hear expressions of
concern about where things are headed. It stood out when Viacom CEO Philippe
Dauman noted that “ad sales growth will face some headwinds.” Other CEOs who
are known for speaking bluntly warned that other shocks may bedevil the
business. For example, Dish Network Chairman Charlie Ergen said that his
satellite company – and others in pay TV – have to fight harder against rising
programming costs because “there’s a limit to the price increases that could
be passed on to consumers.” Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt warned that
premium channels such as HBO, Showtime and Starz “are clearly impacted by the
economy as consumers try to cut back.”  Either they're genuinely worried,  or
they want a scapegoat to blame for things that are going bad, or may soon do
so. Whatever the case, we can expect ...
