Singing The Praises Of Cordless Grinders - ToolsRUs
If you don't use a grinder frequently then you probably wouldn't understand why someone would get so excited over cordless grinders. It is tough work when the tool of choice is a power grinder. Grinders are used to cut through metal and other really tough materials.
Grinders are most often found in machine shops and auto body shops. The grinders are used to grind the jagged metal and to cut other pieces of metal off the wrecked cars. Having a good tool that easily cuts through metal and grinds the rest away is essential in an auto body shop. Having a good grinder or two is important to getting the work done efficiently and more importantly the grinder will get the work done in a way that provides a good finished product.
The trick to getting the job done right is getting the grinder into the right position. In most cases this will mean it's better to use a grinder that doesn't have a cord. The cord will usually just get in the way of the person who is trying to use the grinder. If the cord isn't getting in the way then it may be that the cord is just too short and won't allow the worker to get the grinder to the spot where they need it.
The cordless grinders that a person can use are able to do all the same things that the corded grinders can do. However, in addition to that the grinders that don’t have any cords can get into tight spaced without the fear of cutting the power cord or even having the cord be too short.
Take a look at these biscuit Jointers, Angle Grinder, Jigsaw
If you don't have the right tool for the job, then the job is that much tougher to get done, but not only to get done, but to get done well. If you're in need of a grinder then there wouldn't be a time really where you would ever want to choose a corded grinder over a cordless one.
Does any one know what a copper roller polisher did?
in my family history research I have found a relative who was a copper roller polisher for most of the nineeenth century, What was he doing and why?
Both his sons in 1881 were listed as " Machine engraver(SMM)" what does this mean?
A "Copper-Roller Polisher" would have worked in the textile businesses where etched copper-rollers were used to print patterns onto rolls of cloth. The polisher would have used a polishing lathe to polished copper rollers by removing scratches and etched on patterns. He basically would clean and polish the copper-rollers so that they could be reused.
A Machine engraver would have operated the machine that engraved patterns on the cleaned copper surface. He basically would have made the design that was to be printed onto the material.
Alternatively – they could have worked in the newspaper business doing about the same thing, only printing on paper.
