How to Find A Good Saxophone Teacher

The saxophone is a truly wonderful instrument. It became so popular that it eventually became one of the main symbols of the jazz era. However, this instrument still is a mystery in a lot of ways. Not many people have aspired to become a sax player, and from among the non-musicians, you will find very few that have it as a hobby, like former President Bill Clinton. I remember once, I approached a saxophone player in the street and asked him if it is difficult to master the saxophone. He asked if I ever saw a both young and professional sax player and added that, yes it is difficult to master, but easy to play.

Before you even begin searching for a singapore saxophone teacher, you should consider some facts about the saxophone. First, to completely master this instrument you will need more time than with mastering a piano or a banjo. Also practicing this complex instrument is very important, so plan your time and see if you have time for both singapore saxophone lessons and practice.

Another problem that you will face is the purchase of the saxophone, most probably you will need a singapore saxophone teachers recommendation even at this stage. There are a lot of different saxophones and just getting the first one you like won’t be the best decision. Always have in mind the area of expertise you want to specialize in. For saxophone it will be jazz and jazz is probably the most challenging music. To play jazz you require at least some basic musical education, so make sure that you have enough general knowledge if you aim to be in a jazz band.

If you search online, you will find many tutorial websites telling you that it is better to just learn the sax by yourself or with their help rather than hire a teacher. That’s not completely true. Sax is one of the most complicated instruments around and trying to learn it without even basic music knowledge will be pointless. It may be possible to do, but then again, you will still have to approach a teacher to find out if what you are doing is right. As a general rule, it can get very difficult to learn the saxophone without a teacher.

As you see mastering a saxophone is a serious task, so if you have time you should even consider visiting some music school. As for selecting a school or a teacher, you can search the web for the nearest schools and the read the reviews or visit the schools/teachers and see what they can offer.

Generally, when you want a music instrument teacher, what you should look for is not really a virtuoso player. Such teacher will be useful at very advanced stages and only if you decide to be a musician. He might help you when you’ll be looking for your style and sound and your education will probably be more of jamming and improvisation sets and not lessons. A good teacher, above all, must be able to teach well. It is not a big problem if your teacher is a multi-instrumentalist as long as he is mainly focused on brass instruments. Just ask his students both past and current how well he teaches and you should get a general idea of his competence.

Combination or Key padlock for Locker that cannot be cut off?

Is there a combination or key padlock that cannot be cut off by bolt cutters? Must fit on a regular sized school or gym locker. If something does not exist, let me know. Brass Master Lock? Any suggestions? Thanks.

You can get padlocks that have very little shackle, but they'll only fit staples that are somewhat exposed, so they could be got with the bolt cutter. Something like [1]. I found that from the Sold Secure [2] site we have in the UK. You'll hopefully find the same brands in Canada. Go for the Gold ratings, of course.

Brian Grazer will now produce the Oscars, might have multiple hosts (Celebitchy)

This whole “What’s going to happen with the Oscars?” thing has become a big
enough story, right? Usually it’s like pulling teeth, trying to get you
bitches to care about these inside-Hollywood stories about producers and such.
Well, ever since Brett Ratner mentioned, in passing, that he thinks rehearsals
are for homosexuals (but [...]
