LOOKING FOR NAME TAGS OR ID CARDS ?
Ask any conference organiser.....it’s the little things that take up the most time - and cause the most problems too !.
Small details such as name tags or name cards may seem like a small detail in the greater scheme of the event, but they have the ability to cause mayhem when something goes wrong....as it so often does. Sorting out name tags or ID cards for delegates is a deceptively simple task – and organisers often leave it too late, with a very unsatisfactory outcome.
Many people also underestimate the importance of the choice of name badge or name card when they’re organising an event, Truth is – the choice of name cards will give participants an instant message about what they can expect from the event. If the id cards are scruffy, inferior quality, with sub-standard pins or magnets and if the names are spelled incorrectly – then the impression that delegates will get will be compromised from the start. First impressions count – and although it may seem like a minor thing – the humble name tag plays a big part in creating that impression.
It’s not rocket science and the trick is obviously a bit of forward planning – but stocking up on some quality products eg lanyards, plastic id cards, wristbands etc will go a long way in presenting a professional, polished image.

Yep. We have ID tags that we're "supposed to wear". They have our picture and name and a UPC type code on the back. The pictures look like mug shots, taken on a day when it was 120+ degrees and we'd been working for six hours, so we look like dirty, unhappy convicts. We work in a factory, so most of the women don't wear them because we lose them. The guys usually clip them on the back of their hats.

To combat the city's growing bed bug problem, the Department of Housing
Preservation and Development has gone to the dogs. Say hello to Nemo and
Mickey, the latest members of the department's Maintenance Code inspection
team. And rather than the vet, the two Beagles were fortunate enough to get
their tags—we mean badges—from Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Housing
Commissioner Mathew Wambua. "Awww, look at their little jackets," cooed Ms.
Quinn when she first set eyes on the dogs. Indeed, there was so much baby
talk and photo snapping, the scene shared more than a passing resemblance to a
new-borns room in a maternity ward, as much as a City Hall press conference.
City Hall is clean.
Behind all the _joie de pooch_ was the serious and very nasty issue of
actually being bitten by those pesky bugs. Commissioner Wambua revealed how in
the last fiscal year the department had received some 13,000 complaints and
3,500 violations. "After you use the dogs you will really feel good about
sleeping and you won’t have any mental health anguish," said Council Member
